Although we weren’t married at our original venue or on our original date, I still want to share details about our wedding invitations on the blog because it was a wedding project that I thoroughly enjoyed. Invitations were something I knew could be very costly and while they’re just paper that 99.9% of recipients will throw in the trash, it was important to me that the invitations be fancy.

With the pandemic, we couldn’t really go out to restaurants but we enjoyed ordering room service from Boone Tavern’s delicious menu. I was also surprised at the number of gluten free items or alternatives they provided! One night we ordered the most amazing brussels sprouts. When trying to find a recipe to recreate the dish at home, we came across these Maple Dijon Brussels Sprouts. While they’re not an exact match, they’re incredibly tasty and simple!
Read MoreCinco De Mayo kind of snuck up on us in this weird state of quarantine and isolation so last night we went with the meal on our dinner list for the week that was closest to tacos haha… If you consider Pulled Pork Sweet Potato Nachos to fall anywhere close to that category!
Read MoreAs a little girl, I doodled all sorts of wedding dresses. I think watching The Parent Trap (the one with Lindsay Lohan) had something to do with it… the photo shoot scene at Elizabeth James’ shop with Annie and the hats… SO FUN!
Read MoreMore pandemic cooking happening over here! Last night we tried a recipe for Creamed Spinach Stuffed Salmon. Now don’t panic if that name doesn’t sound enticing. I probably wouldn’t have gotten excited solely by the name either. But I was intrigued by a video and WOW guys! This is like restaurant quality salmon! SO IMPRESSED!

I’ve tried roasting cauliflower a few times and I’ve just not mastered it and there are so many other veggies I DO like roasted that I just haven’t made as much of an effort. We’ve tried mashed cauliflower a total of like 2 maybe 3 times and it’s just no… Darrell really liked it but I can’t get into it and then it smells weird in my opinion. But I know how much my *hubby* likes cauliflower so I did some Pinterest digging last week and found a recipe that sounded reasonable. Spoiler alert: I LOVED IT! Also, it is loaded with a bunch of stuff so that’s probably why… Pro tip: You can make all sorts of food you’re not crazy about actually great when you douse it in cheese and bacon!! :D Don’t judge.
Read MoreI’ve received so many sweet compliments on our wedding website that I figured it would be worthy of a post for those of you planning your own wedding, looking forward to planning one day down the road or for those who might just be curious!
Read MoreWhen Darrell and I took a little trip to NYC to figure out what life would look like in the big city, we ate at some amazing restaurants. I snapped photos knowing I couldn’t really share about our adventures until later. So now is later. Possibly the best casual dining gluten free pasta experience I’ve ever had was that weekend at Murray’s Mac and Cheese.
Read MoreSnow!!! I’m pretty sure it’s the first snow of the year and it looks lovely. Last night, as everyone in the area was making their way to Kroger for their bread and milk, I decided to grab a few things to try a twist on a grilled cheese sandwich.
