Happy National Ice Cream Day!

IMG-8689.jpg

Have you had ice cream today?? We made it to South Carolina last night and have been chilling in a hotel until we can get into the new apartment. Tonight, we ate dinner in the car (we picked up some to-go food from a local restaurant) and then hopped across town to enjoy blizzards from Dairy Queen. Penny got in on the excitement with a pup cup!

Where We’re At in the Moving Process

It’s been a crazy few days, on the road and in between the NYC apartment and our new one in SC. We had originally planned to stay in KY for the weekend and see some family and friends but we’ve grown extra concerned about COVID in the past week as more loved ones became impacted (by knowing someone who has contracted the virus). We haven’t been around anyone who has the virus (that we’re aware of) but we wanted to take extra precautions to social distance and decided it would be best to stay in hotels as we made our way south. It was a major bummer to be in KY and not actually get to visit with anyone but we strongly feel it is for the best right now. So we cut our KY weekend short and only stayed one night in order to do a “contactless” pick up of my car from my parents. We made it into SC last night and spent today getting our barrings and checking out the area. We are so excited to actually get into the new apartment tomorrow!

No update on when the moving truck will arrive (they’re supposed to give us a two day notice) so we will be living it up with camping chairs, folding tables and an air mattress for a while - but that’s part of why we rented the van to drive down, to take the items we’d need while waiting for the truck.

Ice Cream

We are major lovers of ice cream and we certainly couldn’t let National Ice Cream Day go by without stopping at Dairy Queen. I am excited to try out lots of other ice cream shops in the area but tonight we wanted DQ Blizzards and since Penny is by our side 24/7 until we settle into the apartment, I wanted to make sure she got a pup cup too (which DQ offers for cheap!)

She LOVED her little pup cup and I snapped the cutest video of her chowing down that I’ll share on Instagram later.

I ordered a mini Reese’s Blizzard and Darrell went with the Frosted Animal Cookie Blizzard which is apparently the blizzard of the month.

Like to Know It Day

So if you follow many bloggers (or I guess Instagrammers who don’t have blogs but have Like to Know It) you’ve likely heard it is Like to Know It Day. I recently got started with Like to Know It and while I have heard about lots of great deals going on, I am sorry to say I don’t have an awesome run down of what’s happening - when I heard the date I knew it just wasn’t going to work out for me to dig into the specifics not knowing exactly what we’d be doing today since we’re in the middle of a crazy move. I hope y’all understand!! You can follow me on Like to Know It if you’d like - it is a great way to shop my posts very quickly and easily! I do post on there pretty regularly and I recommend it if you like to refer back to items I have linked in posts! (Please note not every post that contains links ends up on my Like to Know It page because Like to Know It has a list of which retailers can be linked through their app and sometimes I share items that aren’t affiliate links [affiliate links are links I can receive a commission on] and therefore they won’t show up on their app.) But it is excellent for finding most fashion and home items mentioned on the blog!!

NYC Apartment “Tour”

It’s been a fun but long day and I’m ready to unwind. I’ll leave you with one more note: If you’re curious what our NYC apartment looked like, I did a thorough “tour” on my Instagram story Thursday and I’ve saved it to my highlight titled “NYC” over on Instagram! It doesn’t show the rooms set up like we had them because I took the video after the movers left but if you’re curious, it’s a fun little video!!
